Reading and programming device for a PC

For the registration and management of the issued keys

The application of this reading and programming device is particularly recommended for larger facilities.

Concerning a single-family house it is normally not a problem to know to which persons the manageable amount of keys (4 pcs. included in delivery) were handed out. If one key gets lost (and which is therefore not available to be checked out at the system), the whole device is reset to the initial state using the master key. Thereby all the registred keys (including the lost one) are deleted from the memory of the control unit. Afterwards the remaining keys are newly registred at the "cleaned" system. The lost key is not noted at the control unit anymore and thus cannot be misused.

Regarding an apartment building it would be a lot too intricate and time-consuming to request the appearance of all the lodgers and to re-register their keys.

Thus the solution is to read in all the keys with this reading device before issuing them. The key-data is saved along with the related person / apartment in a database.

In case of loosing a key, its datas are still available in the database. With this data it would be possible to create a replacement key. But to avoid any misuse of the lost key, it should be deleted form the memory of the control unit. For that purpose a "replacement-erase-key" is generated using the reading and programming device. In fact the key is a duplicate of the lost key, but does only act as a makeshift to erase the lost one (and is therefore physicaly not availible) out of the database. This is done with the help of the master key.
